RETURN REGULATIONS

All the key information relating to returns and transportation can be found below.

TRANSPORTATION OF LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES

The transportation of lithium-ion batteries is subject to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR). We would therefore like to make you aware that, as a shipper, you must comply with the ADR rules.

Consequently, special requirements apply to the transportation of loose batteries. Specific notification of their transportation must be given before collection.

For safety reasons, defective and/or damaged lithium-ion batteries must not be returned and you are responsible for disposing of them yourself.

A battery is deemed defective and/or damaged if, for example:

  • there is heavy damage to the battery housing;
  • there is thermal deformation (melted connection cables or deformed housing);
  • it generates a lot of heat when switched off (not when in use or charging);
  • fluid leaks out of it;
  • gas leaks out of it;
  • diagnostics cannot be run on it prior to transportation.

 Defective or damaged batteries must be disposed of by the customer.

DEALING WITH LOCKED DEVICES

A major challenge that we face when refurbishing IT devices is the growing number of devices that are not fully unlocked when returned. This makes it more difficult to access the device, preventing it from being refurbished and possibly preventing data erasure.

Locked devices have to be separated out, stored somewhere and then refurbished yet again if they can eventually be unlocked. If it is not possible to unlock them, they may potentially have to be destroyed, resulting in additional costs and utilization of resources.

For this reason, CHG-MERIDIAN AG reserves the right to charge a fee of €35.00 as compensation for this additional work.
